The “Forever Alone” racing team started by a friend on Facebook

Feeling alone? Not part of a racing team? Come join our the Forever Alone Racing Team (F.A.R.T.) and we can race alone, together (disclaimer: this is a joke) (second disclaimer: this is still a joke)

I hate the “Forever Alone” meme, but this is funny.

Back from my ride with Alex. Ended up at 5.5 miles, moving time 24:02, average speed 13.8mph, max speed 22.8 mph.
This was my first time riding on a road with traffic lights. The Research Park Loop is 4 lane, so traffic can easily get around me and very light traffic on the weekends. At the first red traffic light, I was behind Alex and decided emulate his “kick one leg out and lean on the curb” technique. It’s a really useful trick unless you miss the curb like I did and fall over on your bike. For those keeping track, this is the second time I’ve fallen off my bike.
I ran this route (on the sidewalks) during half marathon training last year and don’t remember it being so hilly. The long slow hills kill me on the bike. I need to build up my stamina.
After I got back on and got going I wasn’t feeling ‘right’. I felt nauseated and a little light headed so I stopped, pulled my bike to the grass strip at the side of the road and sat down for a few minutes. In hindsight I have only eaten about 600 calories today, so I was probably just under fueled. I’m not actively restricting my calories I just haven’t been hungry and forgot to eat (there is a first time for everything).
I rode back at a slower pace and made it with no problems.
This I still need to master on the bike
Drinking water while on the bike
Not falling down
Clipless pedals (haven’t even started down this road yet)
Pacing - I go out at a ‘sprint’ for me and run out of fuel quickly. I need to learn pacing so I can maintain a steady effort.
Dismounting gracefully (I’m getting better at this - I don’t get ‘stuck’ straddling the frame like I did the first few times.

It doesn't feel like I'm in Alabama

What did you expect it to feel like, barefoot and pregnant?
